Was ist Gold Vermeil?
Vermeil ist ein gesetzlich geregelter Begriff, der sich auf vergoldete Silberschmuckstücke mit einem bestimmten Qualitätsstandard bezieht. Um legal als "Vermeil" bezeichnet zu werden, muss Schmuck ALLE folgenden Bedingungen erfüllen:
- Sie haben eine Grundschicht aus Sterlingsilber.
- Sie müssen mit mindestens 10k Gold (10 Karat) beschichtet sein, was bedeutet, dass sie mindestens 41,7 % reines Gold enthalten.
- Die Goldbeschichtung muss mindestens 2,5 Mikrometer dick sein. Ein Mikron ist 1/1000stel eines Millimeters.

Was ist eine 18K-Vakuumvergoldung?
Unter Vakuumbeschichtung von Echtgold versteht man die Anwendung der Hochtemperatur-Vakuumbeschichtungstechnologie auf Teile zur Beschichtung mit 18k-Echtgold. Bei dieser Galvanisierungsmethode werden mittels Glimmentladung Sauerstoffionen auf ein Zielmaterial im Vakuum geschossen. Die positiven Ionen im Plasma werden auf das Zielmaterial beschleunigt, so dass es herauskommt und sich auf der Oberfläche des zu beschichtenden Objekts abscheidet.
Eine hochwertige Vakuumgalvanisierung kann die Lebensdauer der Farbe von Schmuckstücken effektiv verlängern, so dass die Farbe doppelt so lange erhalten bleibt wie bei einer herkömmlichen Vergoldung.
